Joann Lynne Otten, 49, of Peoria passed away at 10:38 p.m. on Friday,Oct. 24, 2014, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.

Joan was born on August 18, 1965, Sibley, Iowa, to Jon & Helen Nelson Cook.

She is survived by her parents of Fort Dodge, IA; her children, Katie, Luke, Nathan, and Noah all at home; her ex-husband, Mark Otten; her sisters, Jolene Rosebeck of Des Moins, Iowa, an Julie (John) White of Burlington, Iowa; two brothers, Jon (Jennifer) Cook of Ammon, Idaho, and Jim (Katie) Cook of Johnsn, Iowa.

Joann graduated from Central College in Pella, Iowa, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in business.

She worked as the admissions director for Bradley University 21 years.

Joann enjoyed sewing and, above all else, going to her children's sporting events.

A funeral Mass will be held t 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at St. Vincent de Pa Catholic Church. Father Dutin Schultz will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, also at the church. An additionl visitation we be one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be in Resurrction Cemetery. Wright & Salmon Mortuay is handling the arranements

In lieu of flowers, memorils may be made to an education fund for her children c/o CEFCU.
