CHARLOTTE E. PARSONS 1810-1883

PARSONS

Died, at her home four miles south of town (Humboldt), April 19, 1883, Mrs. Charlotte E. Parsons, in the 73rd year of her age.

Mr. and Mrs. Parson came to the state eighteen years ago. He died twelve years since, leaving besides a wife, six children. Mrs. Parson was a woman of decisive spirit, faithful and efficient to the conduct of her affairs. Years ago she connected herself with the Baptist Church, but finding on their arrival no congregation of that faith at Humboldt, she became associated with Unity, though of later years her health has not permitted a constant attendance at the services.
The prospect of death caused her no uneasiness, and she arranged her affairs with wonted thoughtfulness, and kindly interest in those she left to mourn her departure. By her will, the property was equally divided among the children. The burial took place on Friday, the 20th, and the funeral discourse was delivered the next day. Thus one by one are the mounds growing in the churchyard. Thus frequent are the separation of loved ones at death’s door on earth, followed by the reunion of the long separated in the brighter home beyond the river.
