CHARLES FLEMING
Monday forenoon of this week, Mr. Charles Fleming one of the most respected highly regarded of our Older settlers was taken ill, with acute Neuralgia
of the heart, and before noon had passed away. He was about the business street during the early part of the day and was taken at Welst's shoe shop where
he had called in to rest. A physician was called and all the attention possible was given, and a conveyance was obtained and he was taken home but
lived only a short time.

The funeral was held at the Congregational church Wednesday afternoon the 13th, Rev. C. W. Heady officiating Albert Rowley Post No. 393 G. A. R. of which Comrade Fleming was a member took charge of the burial at Union Cemetery.

Obituary
Corporal Chas. Flemmlng was born in Danville, Ill., October 19, 1833, and died at his home In Humboldt, Iowa, October 11, 1909, age 75 years, 11
months, 22 days. He was married January 1, 1856, in Hardin Co., to Mahala J. Stout. Nine children were given to gladden this home, Sarah, Martha, William, Rose, John, Manda, Cora, Fredrick, Joseph. Two Martha and Rose have passed on before.

In November, 1889, he moved with his wife and family to Humboldt Co., Iowa, and on March 2, 1904, his wife died.

He was again married April 4th, 1905, to Mrs. Clista Carnagey.

He leaves to mourn his departure besides his wife and children and other relatives, a host of friends.

Mr. Fleming was a good soldier, a accommodating neighbor, a loving father and a devoted husband.

Military Record of Corp. Chas. Fleming: He enlisted from Eldora, Hardin Co., Iowa, August 9, 1862, and was mustered Into U. S. Service in
Dubuque October 6th, 1862, as private n Co. F. 32nd Regiment Iowa Infantry Volunteers under Captain J. Edgington and Col. John Scott,to serve
three years or during the war. …He was honorably discharged August 24tb, 1865, at Clinton, Iowa, on account of close of war.
