John H. Coffin was born April 1 1837, at St. Lawrence county, N.Y. He came with the early pioneers to Iowa, where he was married. Six children were born to bless the union, three of whom are dead and three living.

He with his family moved to Humboldt five years ago. Mr. Coffin has been a member of the Congregational church for twenty years. The funeral held from the church was attended by many friends and relatives. Mr. Coffin's death was spoken of last week and need not be referred to now. Peace be to his ashes
