Funeral services are planned at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fifth Avenue Baptist Church for Mrs. Chris Freis, 84. The Rev. David Brown will officiate and burial will be in Union Cemetery with the Lindhart funeral home in charge.

Mrs. Freis died unexpectedly Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Kropf*, at Sterling, Colorado. She had accompanied her daughter back to Colorado last Friday after Mrs. Kropf had visited here.

The former Serena Sørensen, she was born in Denmark and came to Humboldt County about 60 years ago. Her husband died a number of years ago.

Surviving are five children, Mrs. Fred Kropf of Sterling, Colorado, Carl of Des Moines, Henry of Humboldt, Roy of Muskegon, Michigan, and Mrs. Calvin Haas of Kalamazoo, Michigan; 20 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are one brother and one sister, Chris Sørensen and Mrs. Peter Simonsen of Humboldt.
