TILLIE ANNE KLASSE

RENWICK — Clotilda Anne “Tillie” Klasse, 84, died Sunday, March 25, 2007, at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital, Humboldt.

Services will be held at the United Methodist Church, Rewick, on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Dale Schoening, the Rev. Lynn Noll, and the Rev. Karen Dearchs officiating. Interment to take place in LuVerne Cemetery, LuVerne. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Renwick.

Clotilda Anne “Tillie” Klasse was born on January 2, 1923, at Plain, Wisconsin, to George Franklin and Lucinda Catherine Nachreiner Winkler. She received her education in Plain, graduating from the Plain High School. She then attended college for 1 year. After her schooling, Tillie moved to the LuVerne and Renwick, Iowa area, where she worked as a housekeeper. Tillie was married to Harold Klasse on May 20, 1943, at Humboldt, Iowa. The couple farmed Harold’s family farm until 1963, when they moved into Renwick. Tillie assisted her husband, Harold in the operation of the D-X tank wagon business until 1991. Harold preceded Tillie in death on April 18, 1991.

Tillie was an active member of the Renwick United Methodist Church, where she had taught Sunday School and had served for a time as Sunday School Superintendent. She was also the church custodian for 38 years. Tillie worked for the Blake and the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in Renwick for over 25 years.

Tillie belonged to the Hi Neighbor Club in Renwick and enjoyed doing handwork in crafts, gardening and reading.

She is survived by her children, Ron Klasse and wife, Dianne, Fort Dodge, Iowa and Becky Lee, Hampton, Iowa. Also surviving are her grandson, Doug Klasse and wife, Jodi, Earlham, Iowa and 2 granddaughters, Renae Noble and husband, Shawn, Des Moines, Iowa, Victoria Schultz, Gainsville, Florida and her sister, Florence McGill, Avoca, Wisconsin. Also surviving are her honorary sons, Ellis Macha and wife, Barb, Renwick, Iowa and Richard Rice, Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harold.
