Daniel F. Coyle, attorney at law and land agent, of the firm of Coyle & Westover, is a native of Iowa Co., Wis., born September 12, 1858. In 1862 he came with his father, Charles C. [and mother Matilda Franklin Coyle], to this county. From 1876 to 1881 he was a student in the State University at Iowa City, studying law during the time. He was then admitted to the bar in the summer of 1881. He then returned to Humboldt county and engaged in the practice of his chosen profession, forming the present partnership in March, 1883. He was married in March, 1882, to Sallie Ham [Hamm, daughter of Jonathan Hamm and Ann Eliza Kauffman, 1860-1950], a native of Iowa. They have one child—Claude H. [Claude Hamm Coyle, 1883-1945]. Mr. Coyle is the present mayor of the city [of Humboldt], having been elected in March, 1883.
