Starting with the 1910 US Census, Kate (Loughman) Canfield identified herself as divorced. Thomas Canfield appears in Sumner, Bremer Co., IA in the 1915 Iowa State Census. In it, he identified himself as divorced.

According to the WPA Graves Registration Survey of the 1930's, Thomas Canfield is buried in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Leroy Twp, Bremer Co., IA.
