Fred Gallup, for a long time a resident of Vernon Springs and Cresco, passed away last Saturday morning in Cedar Rapids, where for some time ha has made his home with his youngest daughter, Mrs. Andrews. Death resulted from apoplexy but Mr. Gallup had been in poor health for some time. Funeral services were held at Cedar Rapids and on Monday, the remains some brought to Cresco for interment in New Oregon cemetery. The deceased was a charter member of Cresco Camp 121, W. O. W. and the remains were met at the train by members of that order who conducted short funeral services at the grave, assisted by Rev. Bockoven.
