OBITUARY.
Miller.
Francis Edward Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Miller, was born on May 17, 1897, at West Union, Iowa, and died at his home Feb. 17, 1919, aged 21 years and 9 months.
He was a kind and loving christian son. His early departure will be greatly mourned by his sorrowing parents, five sisters and three brothers who are left to mourn his untimely death. Mrs. Henry Wilbur, Gertrude, Charlotte, Mabel and Helen, Charles, Clarence and Georgie. His whole life was spent on his father’s farm near West Union. He was a patient sufferer for some time with tuberculosis, when influenza set in and he departed to a happy home above. All that loving hearts and hands could do was done but was of no use. His presence will be greatly missed by his grieved parents, sisters and brothers.
He was laid to rest in Holy Name cemetery Wednesday, Feb. 19 1919. The services were conducted by Rev. Father Roney of West Union who gave a very touching sermon.
His pall bearers were Allie Miller, Herbert Halstad, Simon O’Neil, Arthur and Leon McCauley and Edward Meskal.

Our darling boy has left us for a happier home above.
We miss your kind and loving voice,
There’s a vacant spot which never can be filled.
Where’ere we look his cheery way has vanished.
We know our darling suffered and grief we should not know.
For God knew best to take him to his heavenly home above where all is joy and bliss.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in West Union.
