PECOY.
Mary Frances Aldrich was born in North Adams, Massachusetts, November 13, 1837. She was a daughter of Amias and Caroline Aldrich, old settlers in Dundee Township, Illinois, and was the first white child in that part of the state. She was united in marriage with Stephen Pecoy, January 1, 1858, and died in Cresco, Iowa, June 17, 1918.
With hands so gently placed
Across her pulseless breast,
She is home and sweetly
Sleeping in her Eternal Rest.
Her life, as pure and lovely
As the dew drop’s sparkling ray,
Has gone from our home forever
And as silently passed away.
