Anna Lea Postle was born in Wellington, Shropshire England, June 2nd. 1838. When only six years of age she came to America with her parents, settling in Albany, New York. After spending some time there, they were seized with the desire to see this great middle west, so they started on their westward journey, arriving after days and weeks of travel at Waukesha, Wis. No doubt this meant for these early pioneers a long and tedious journey, but they were endowed with that strong and sturdy English blood, which has been noted for its endurance and chivalrous qualities.
On March 6, 1856, the deceased was united in marriage to Lyman Postle. Five years later, in 1861, Mr. and Mrs. Postle came across the fathers of waters into Minn. They were pleased with their finding and took up their abode in Fillmore county, where they continued to live until about the year 1895, when death slipped in and took from Mrs. Postle the husband. From that time forward Mrs. Postle continued to remain in her old home until because of the burden of age the last few years have been spent in the homes of her children. Mr. and Mrs. Postle became the parents of eight children, all of whom are living except John, the youngest son, who was killed in a railroad accident in Chicago, Sept. 29, 1909. Those who survive their mother are Mrs. Elizabeth Getts of Oregon, Wis., Kitty Broadbent of Blackfoot, Idaho, Florence Huebbe, of Jefferson, Wis., Lyman of Omaha, Neb., William of Etna, Neva Simons of Spring Valley, and Anna Plummer of Lime Springs. Mrs. Postle slipped quietly and peacefully out of this life on the evening of Moy{sic} 9, 1918 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dr. H. W. Plummer, after only a few days of serious illness at the age of 79 years, 11 months, 7 days. She leaves to mourn her loss her seven children all of whom are present at this service except Kitty Broadbent, one sister, Mrs. Faulkner of Glidden, Ia., 28 grandchildren, several great grand children and a host of friends and neighbors who will miss her. She was a kind neighbor, a friend of the children, a true wife and a faithful mother. She has gone from this community where she has spent so many years of her life but we trust that the memory of her life will linger for many years to come. A short service was held at the home of Dr. Plummer after which the body was conveyed to the Etna church where Rev. Bear of the M. E. Church of Lime Springs delivered the funeral sermon. Interment took place in the Spring Valley cemetery. The male quartette of Lime Springs furnished the music.

Transcriber's Note: She is buried in Spring Valley Cemetery in Spring Valley, MN.
