FOSTER R. HUGHES.
Foster R. Hughes was born at Logansport, Ind., Dec. 30, 1899, and passed away May 9, 1918, being 18 years, 4 months and 10 days of age. He came with his parents to Lime Springs when 9 years of age where he has lived every{sic} since except this year when he was a student of Grinnell College. Foster united with the M. E. Church of Lime Springs 3 years ago last winter and has ever been true to his profession as an upright Christian young man. The funeral services attended by a large number of sympathizing friends were held in the Presbyterian Church. The sermon was preached by his former pastor, Rev. Perry, of McGregor. Rev. Bear of the M. E. Church and Rev. Caldwell of the Presbyterian Church assisted in conducting the services. Foster will be greatly missed in this community. He had a large number of friends among both young and old who mourn his loss. The unusually large attendance at the funeral is evidence of the high esteem in which he was held by the people of Lime Springs and vicinity. His body was laid to rest in Pleasant Hill cemetery The father and mother and grandmother have the heartfelt sympathy of many friends who mourn with them in their great loss.
