OBITUARY.

Webster.

Serena S. Irvine was born Sept. 4, 1833, in Huron county, Ohio, and passed away at her home in Minneapolis April 1, 1918. She was united in marriage to Calvin F. Webster Oct. 19, 1857, at Door Village, Saporto county, Ind., and moved to Howard county, Iowa, the same year to make their future home, being among the pioneers of this county, suffering the hardships common to a new country, They lived on their farm about 18 years; then moved to Cresco, the county seat, which was her home for about forty years, moving to Minneapolis two years ago. To this union was born three daughters—Clara E. McCook, having passed away in January 1912, at Cresco, Mrs. C. I. White and Miss Edith Webster, who with the aged husband and four grandchildren—Charles W. White, Allie May Meredith and the Misses Florence and Bess McCook and other near and dear relatives besides a host of friends and neighbors mourn the death of one who was faithful to every trust. Thus ends the life here of a christian mother, a devoted and loving wife; never thinking of her own comfort, but always looking out for the comfort of others, always keeping an open home and a welcome hand for those less fortunate. She was ready to go home, telling the daughters she would like to take her life’s companion with her. She died claiming the promises of the Master, her heart was not troubled about the future. She said she had been spared a good while and could not complain.

Blessed are they that die in the Lord. She has gone to the mansion prepared for those that love Him.

Interment was at Oaklawn cemetery where other loved ones rest.
