OBITUARY.
Joseph Lickteig passed away the latter part of last week at the home of his brother Peter in Greeley, Kansas, where he went to visit a couple of months ago. The funeral services were held at St. Joseph’s Church on Tuesday, June 12th, conducted by Rev. J. P. Wagener, with burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
The deceased was born at Donsieder, Germany, June 9, 1850, and came to Howard County in 1865 and located near Cresco.
He was married to Barbara Dotzler, June 6, 1876, and four children were born to them: John, Stephen, Mary and Frank; the former died in infancy and the rest all reside in Warren County, Iowa; his wife having preceded his six months ago. His two sons, Stephen and Frank, and his four nephews, Joe and John Lickteig, of Greeley, Iowa, A. Studer and John Loebig, of Waverly, Iowa, were here to attend the funeral. He is survived by 14 grandchildren besides a number of other relatives who mourn his departure.
