OBITUARY

LUSK.

Impressive funeral services were held yesterday afternoon for the late Mrs. Roy Lusk, and were very largely attended. Rev. L. D. Williams, Pastor of the Belgrade Avenue Methodist Church, officiated. The church was crowded to the doors with relatives and friends of the deceased, and the floral offerings were many and beautiful, completely covering the casket.

Mrs. Roy Lusk, a popular young woman of North Mankato, died at St. Joseph’s hospital, Monday evening at ten o’clock, death being caused by a complication of ailments and hastened by a weak heart. Two weeks ago she was removed to the hospital and underwent an operation in the hope of saving her life, but her health continued to fail until death relieved her sufferings.

The maiden name of the deceased was Miss Edna Evelyn Clark. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Clark of 439 South Ave. North Mankota and was born in Viola, Wis., on June 16th, 1885. When ten years of age she moven{sic} to a farm near Cresco, Ia., with her parents, where the family made their home for several years. Later they moved to Elma, Iowa, where she grew so{sic} womanhood. She was married to Roy E. Lusk at Cresco, Ia., Oct. 26, 1906, when they came to Mankato to live and have been residents of the city for the ten years since their marriage. The deceased was an estimable young woman. She joined Centenary Methodist Church about eight years ago but last fall transferred her membership to the Methodist Church in North Mankato.

Mrs. Lusk was a kind and loving wife, a wonderful home-maker, a true friend, with a cheerful welcome for everyone. Those who have been privileged to know her and be counted one of her friends will miss her life and influence as only a friend can. He{r} sweet character and silent influence will live after her as living testimonies of her life and mission.

The surviving relatives are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Clark, the husband, five sisters, Mrs. D. I. Kintz of Lime Springs, Ia., Mrs. R. H. Adams and Mrs. C. A. Erion of Elma, Ia., Mrs. Oscar Hadley of Parkers Prairie, Minn., and Mrs. Walter Klages of Mankato, also three brothers, George and Clarence Clark of Mankato and John Clark of Dawson, Neb. All of her brothers ane{sic} sisters are here with the exception of two, a brother, John, and a sister, Mrs. Hadley, who were unable to get here. Miss Kintz of Lime Springs, Ia. Mrs. Lusk’s niece and Mrs. Guy Daws, Mr. Lusk’s sister also being present.—Mankato Free Press.

Transcriber's Note: Earlier reports show her name as Eva; however, her gravestone shows Edna Evelyn as does the above obituary.
