Donna M. Kelly, 78, of Cresco, died on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Accura HealthCare in Cresco, IA.

Visitation for Donna will be held from 12-1 p.m., on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Cresco, IA, followed by a Scripture Service for the family at 1 p.m.

Donna was born on April 23, 1945, to Harold and Helen (Randak) Craft in Cresco, IA. Donna grew up in rural Cresco through the age of 14. She attended Country School up until the school closed while she was in 2nd grade. She then attended St. Joseph school and graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1964. During high school, Donna worked in the dietary department at the hospital in Cresco. After high school, Donna worked in the dietary department for St. Marys Hospital, and then transferred to Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids. At this time, Donna met Frank Kelly and they were married June 15, 1968 in the Little Brown Church in Nashua. To this union, Frank and Donna had 4 children.

During their time together, Frank and Donna lived in Mabel for a short time before moving to Cresco, and then to Manchester. When Frank passed away, Donna moved back to Cresco. She decided to go back to college and earned a clerical degree from NICC in 1989. She also worked in the meat department at Fareway in Cresco, and then in the kitchen of the Cresco hospital from 1997-2012. Most recently, she retired from Donaldson’s after 10 years. In her spare time, Donna enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and bowling. She loved being outdoors and out on the farm. She was known as “Grandma Donna” at Kwik Star, she was always bringing in treats for the staff.

Donna is survived by her children Kevin Kelly of Eyota, MN, Pat Kelly of Spring Valley, MN, Dawn (Terry) Gossman of Cresco, IA; Grandchildren Grayden Anderson, Kyler Kelly, Blayne Kildahl, Easton Gossman, Alivia Gossman, siblings Roger Craft (Di Kovarik), Harold Craft Jr., Ruth (Dave) Shimek, and Diane (Steve) Gradhandt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter Rebecca, sisters Connie Craft, Carol Burke, and nephew Daniel James Shimek.
