Donald D. Dybevik, age 87, of Elma, IA passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at his home in Elma.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Elma with Pastor Bruce Miller officiating. There will be a two hour visitation at the church prior to the funeral on Saturday. Online condolences may be left at www.conwaymarkham.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Howard County Hospice.

Donald Davis was born March 10, 1936, the son of John and Anna (Beaston) Dybevik on the home farm in rural Elma, IA. He attended and graduated from Elma High School in 1954. After completing his education, Donald worked on his family’s farm until 1968. On October 23, 1971, Donald was united in marriage to the love of his life, Jacqueline Day Klockner at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Together, they made their home in Elma where they welcomed their four children, Ryan, Heather, Tiffany and Brittany. He worked at Schley Cheese Factory until it closed and then began working for SMI in Cresco, IA until his retirement in 2005. Donald was a very hard worker and enjoyed building various items with his hands. He was a collector of many things including, memories, pictures, antiques, toys and most of all, love. Not only did he have a sweet tooth but also a very sweet heart. His quick wit and humor will be missed by those who knew Donald.

Those left to honor Donald’s memories are his children, Ryan (Heather) Dybevik of Lake Mills, IA, Heather Dybevik of Elma, IA, Tiffany (DeVonne) Johnson of Fredericksburg, VA and Brittany (Jason) Stone of Orlando, FL; his grandchildren, Skylar, Hunter, Zarina, Layla, and Amina; his great grandchildren, Ezran, Honovi and Zayleigh; his sisters, Karen Streich of Charles City, IA and Carol Schwake of Elma; his brother, Daryl Dybevik of Cresco; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family with a strong connection to his nieces, Janet Spaulding and Heidi Dybevik.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jacqueline in 2019; his brothers, Oliver and Gayle; his sister, Joann; his mother-in-law, Lois Nielsen; his brother-in-law, Paul Klockner; his nephew, Scott Spaulding; his nieces, Linda Schwake, Deanna Dybevik and Karen Spaulding.
