Eva Marie (Pecinovsky) Skretta, 52 of West Union. Iowa passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at her home. Eva was born on September 19, 1969 in Cresco, Iowa to Art and Glenda (Hugebach) Pecinovsky. She attended elementary and middle school at Holy Trinity School in Protivin and graduated from Crestwood High School in Cresco. She attended Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar and Hamilton Business College. In her career. Eva worked as a CNA at Aase Haugen Home. She had multiple positions at the Cliff House in Decorah, as a librarian at Spillville Library and as cashier/bookkeeper at Skretta Auction Service until the time of her death.

Eva married the love of her life, Julian Skretta on May 7. 2011 in Protivin. Iowa. Together they created a happy home for their beloved dog, Blaze. Eva treasured her godchildren and was fortunate to have a close family friend, Billy Staton Jr and adopted brother, Bill Gaede.

Eva enjoyed playing cards. crocheting, reading, watching her favorite television shows, and spending time with family.

Eva is survived by her husband, Julian, their dog, Blaze, brothers-in-law, Fabian (Patricia). Damian, Brian (Linda). Lucian (Ann) Skretta and several nieces and nephews.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Glenda Pecinovsky, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerome and Alice Skretta. uncles and aunts, and sister-in-law. Judy Skretta.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with Rosary at 6:30 pm on Friday. July 15. 2022 at Burnham-Wood-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in West Union, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before mass at the church on Saturday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 16. 2022 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Ft. Atkinson, Iowa with Rev. Nick Radloff as the celebrant. Burial will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Ft. Atkinson, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, you are welcome to make a contribution to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association in Eva’s memory.

Burnham-Wood-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of West Union. Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
