Floyd A. Balk, age 82, of Lime Springs, IA, passed away at Accura Healthcare of Cresco, IA, on April 15, 2022.

Floyd Alfonse Balk was born at home on October 07, 1939, to Ulrich and Rose (Weinfurter) Balk in Jackson Junction, Iowa. His family moved to the farm north of Lourdes in 1946. Floyd lived on the farm for the rest of his life. Farming was in his blood, it was his whole life and he was still farming the land up until a few years ago. He was a very hard worker and enjoyed working with cattle. His biggest hobby was collecting toy tractors and tools. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Floyd is survived by his brothers Ron Balk of Cresco, IA, Francis Balk of Osage, IA; sister Patricia Melver of Cresco, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ulrich and Rose and his siblings, Julius, James, Walter, Arthur, Leona, Reuben, Rita, Alma, Robert and Donald.
