Frederick James Heins, age 81, of Sheboygan, WI, passed away in his home Wednesday March 30, 2022. He was born June 6, 1940 in Postville, IA, to Harlen C.D. and Martha (Sander) Heins. He graduated from Postville High School in 1958.

Fred was united in marriage to Rose Marie Teetshorn, at Orleans Lutheran Church in Ridgeway, IA December 17, 1960. They moved the next year to Cedar Falls, IA and raised two sons. Fred was a salesman for several companies including: Iseman Mobile Home Sales, Hoxie Food, American Fruit and Produce, Keene Corporation and Martin Brothers Distributing. In 1991, he and Rose acquired Casino Express/Limousine Service. They ran the business for 12 years before retiring in Cedar Falls.

Fred and Rose enjoyed camping, bowling and Bible studies. Fred loved to fish and enjoyed visiting with friends and family, a good game of “500” and sharing his love of God with all that would listen. Fred and Rose were members of Nazareth Lutheran Church for 44 years, where Fred was part of the evangelism team and taught 8th grade confirmation.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents Harlen and Martha, loving wife Rose Marie, brother Hilery and wife Joyce Heins, Sister Arletta and husband Willard Holien.

Fred is survived by his children, Dr. Craig (Sonja) Heins of Kohler, Wis. and Leigh (Betsy) Taylor of Farmington, MN.; Grandchildren, Karianna (Jason) Hoard, Isabelle Heins, Benjamin Heins, Olivia (Jacob) Rigsby, Harrison Taylor and Noah Taylor; and Great-grandson Alton Hoard.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 29, 2022, at Lindstrom Funeral Home, 119 Second Avenue Southwest, Cresco, IA. from 9-11:00 am with a memorial service immediately following at 11:00 am. Pastor Brian King from Nazareth Lutheran Church officiating. Inurnment at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Cresco immediately following.

The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the Sheboygan Police Department, Sheboygan Fire/EMS Services, Dr. Michael Johnson and the ancillary staff of all the facilities caring for Fred during his five years in the Kohler and Sheboygan areas.
