This is a story of a man born in Iguala, also known as Iguala de la independencia; a city located in Guerrero in southwestern Mexico.

Celerino was his name, a man who worked diligently ever since he was young. This was all so he could help his mother nourish her children. Years later, he settled down and had three children with his first wife, and later in life, three more.

Celerino arrived in the U.S shortly after the birth of his sixth child, to seek a better life. Without wasting the opportunity, he brought his family along to enhance their life, as well. Once having settled down in the new country, he’d give life to three more children. Celerino would always work in companies, or farms such as pig and dairy farms. In 2019, an illness struck him that weakened his immune system. A small burn on his hand, which didn’t seem severe at the time, led to him having to receive a skin transplant. This was when he was diagnosed with diabetes, but that was the least of his worries. In 2022 he was taken to the hospital once again for a ‘cold’ that didn’t cease, and it seemed too severe to be a regular cold. He was unaware that he had cirrhosis of the liver, but after some x-rays and tests, he was told he had liquid in his lungs. From Cresco he was transferred to the hospital in La Crosse. Further tests following his transfer uncovered the horrible truth over his terrible state. Celerino was diagnosed with liver cancer and was told that he required a liver transplant or he would only have 6 months to live.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case. He passed away on the 24th of March, around a month after his diagnosis.

He is survived by his wife and children.
