Alex P. Hanson, age 18, died on Saturday, March 12, 2022, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident north of Cresco.

Visitation will be held 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2022, at the Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Cresco. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Granger, MN, with Pastor Tim Sir officiating. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Alex Patrick Hanson was born May 30, 2003, son of Kyle and Jada (Brodd) Hanson in Cresco, Iowa. On July 27, 2003, he was baptized at St. Paul’s Big Springs Lutheran Church in rural Harmony, MN. Alex was a 2021 graduate of Crestwood High School. He had a massive love for music. Alex loved to work on his car and took pride in keeping it spotless. He was a huge lover of animals, especially his dog Otis. Alex enjoyed tending to plants and had a green thumb. He liked to ride 4-wheelers and loved shopping. He always wanted to look “on point.” Alex had a wonderful talent of working with electronics and cell phones. He had the most beautiful handwriting and drawing skills. Alex enjoyed taking and posing for pictures, and was known to keep the Snap streaks going.

Family was most important to him along with his many friends. Alex loved his time spent at “The Farm.” He always had his seasoning salts with him, and loved snacking on cherry tomatoes and Takis. His many memories with family and friends will hold a deep spot in the hearts of all who loved him.

Alex is survived by his father Kyle (Brenda McRoberts) Hanson; mother Jada (uncle Keith Hanson) Hanson; brothers Ty Sobolik and Bryce Hanson; step siblings Tyler Mack, Brady Hanson, and Haley and Emily Hofner; grandparents Genny Hanson, Steve (Sarah Barth) Hanson, Notie Smith, and Mary McRoberts; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Thomas Smith; great grandmother Alberta Fishbaugher; great grandparents Ray and Ione Hanson; great uncle Thomas Fishbaugher, and other beloved relatives.

Alex will be remembered for his soft spoken kindness, respect to others, and inclusiveness of everyone. His beautiful and infectious smile will be remembered and cherished by all who were blessed to know and love him.
