Joseph Patrick Gaul passed away unexpectedly at his home in rural Cresco, Iowa on Friday, July 23, 2021. Joe was born on January 4, 1970 to Dwain and Luwane (Blomgren) Gaul.

Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing and growing garlic. Many knew him as “Garlic Joe”, but when it came to the ladies he introduced himself as Joe with a "J". He was well known at the local drinking establishments. Some can probably still hear his smoky, gravelly voice talking about how FANTASTIC his garlic is!

Joe rarely ventured far from his home on the family farm. He was always in a hurry nowhere to be, but always somewhere to go. In true Joe fashion he left us too early. Joe was loved and will be missed.

He is survived by his eight siblings; Rose (Roger) Enestvedt of Sacred Heart, MN, Allen (Karen) Gaul of rural Cresco, Vivian (Doug) Richards of Lake Mills, IA, Mike (Deb) Gaul of Nora Springs, IA, Geri (Tom) Weaklen of Anamosa, IA, Joan Gaul of Cresco, Duane (Michelle) Gaul of New Hampton, IA, Annette (Mike) Duryee of Cresco and twenty nieces and nephews.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents and three nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at noon on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the Kendalville Park Shelter.
