The many friends of Mike Gansen were greatly shocked when they learned of his death last Thursday afternoon, as although Mr. Gansen had been in poor health of late he seemed somewhat improved. He was a much respected citizen of this community and will be greatly missed, not only by his own family but by his entire circle of friends. He was honorable and upright in all his dealings with his fellow men, and was never found wanting in the things that go to make up a really Christian life. It seems sad that one so young should so early be called to meet his reward. He leaves a wife and four children to mourn his loss. He was buried from the Catholic church Saturday morning. Father Bowen preached a very fiitting{sic} and appropriate sermon.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Aug. 9, 1873 and died Aug. 24, 1916. He is buried in the Calvery Elma Cemetery.
