Frank Capouch passed away at his home 7½ miles southwest of Cresco on Tuesday, March 21, 1916, after a brief illness.
He was born in Bohemia, Europe, sixty-six years ago and came to this country with his parents when quite young. He was united in marriage with Miss Anna Vrba and settled on the farm which has always been his home. To them were born eight children, five daughters and three sons. One daughter preceded him in death in infancy, and the others remain with their mother to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father. The remaining children are Mrs. Barbara Novak, of Schley, Iowa; Mrs. Anna Komarek, of Cresco, Iowa; Joseph Capouch, of Schley, Iowa; Frank Capouch Jr., of Schley, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Kubik, of Elma, Iowa; and Miss Emma Capouch and James Capouch at home. Besides these he leaves two brothers and three sisters and many other relatives. He was loved and esteemed by everyone who knew him and will be sadly missed by a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
The funeral occurred on Friday morning, March 24th, at the Holy Trinity Church at Protivin, Iowa, Reverend R. Lakomy officiating, and he was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Frantisek and that he was born in 1851.
