Mrs. Kate Strayer, who has been in poor health for a number of years, passed away Monday evening at the home of her son Lynn. Funeral services were held yesterday at the house at 2 o’clock, Rev. Wolfe officiating.

STRAYER.
Kate Josephine Green was born in Walworth county. Wis., June 1, 1857, the youngest of a family of six children, all of whom survive her.
At the age of 21, she came to Calmar, Ia., to visit her sister, Mrs. Kaye, where she became acquainted by Eber C. Strayer to whom she was united in marriage on Feb. 9, 1880, residing there until their removal to Cresco.
During the residence in Calmer, she united with M. E. Church, but several years ago changed her religious views and became a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
The deceased has been in poor health for several years, and passed away Jan. 17th, at the age of 58 years, 7 months and 16 days.
She leaves to mourn her loss an only son, Lynn V., and three little granddaughters, her husband passing away about three years ago.
Funeral services were conducted at the home of her son on Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. E. W. Wolfe, with interment in Oak Lawn.
The relatives present at the funeral were the brother, John, of Mason City; two sisters, Mrs. Annie G. Grier and Mrs. Carrie G. Ledger of Lake Geneva, Wis., and a niece Miss Vashti Kaye of Grinnell, Iowa.
