Horribly Burned.
Plain Dealer:—One of those blood curdling accidents that shock our humanity, occured in Cresco Tuesday. A widow living on the south side with a blind daughter whom she had left at home while engaged in washing for a neighbor, undertook to start a fire, when her apron caught fire and the attempt to tear it from her person, failing, she ran into the street, and the wind fanning the flame so that her entire person was enveloped, burning the clothing nearly all from her body. E. P. Webster, Charley Miller, and B. F. Ladlaw were near the house but before they could reach her she had fallen to the earth, overcome with the heat and flame. Dr. Barrett was summoned and pronounced the injury necessarily fatal. She suffered intensely for about six hours when death came to her relief. Her name was Katherine Kneister, and her age about eighteen years.
