Wanda S. Hovey, 66, of Preston, MN died on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI.

Wanda Susan Blomgren was born in Cresco, IA on October 27, 1954, to Marvin and Virginia “Dolly” (Wilhelm) Blomgren. She graduated from Crestwood High School. On January 15, 1972, Wanda was united in marriage to Arlynn Hovey. She found her faith when she married Arlynn and she joined the Saetersdal Lutheran Church. Together Wanda and Arlynn had one son, Wyatt.

Wanda turned into a really good farm girl, parts runner, and always had a helping hand to lend. She always remembered to send cards for birthdays and special occasions, not only for family members, but for friends as well. Wanda enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, getting together with friends at Sweet Corn Days, and having granddaughter time.

Wanda is survived by her husband Arlynn Hovey of Preston, son Wyatt (Kim) Hovey of Lime Springs, IA, grandchildren Aliesha Hovey (Nathan Garnett) of Pueblo, CO, Lee (Jamie) Lawson of Virginia Beach, VA, Jackelyn (Blake) Rubendall of Cresco, IA, great-grandchildren Bodhi Garnett, Brayden Rubendall, and Brinlee Rubendall, sisters Carla (Bruce) Fortney, Irene (Duane) Eiffler, nephews Derrick (Nikki) Fortney, Kyle Fortney, Dustin (Julie) Eiffler, Dewey Eiffler, and several great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Russell Blomgren.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021, at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Preston. Masks are required and social distancing will be practiced. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2021, for family and close friends at Saetersdal Lutheran Church in York Township, rural Fillmore County, MN with Pastor Jeff Jacobs officiating. Burial will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the American Cancer Society and the Saetersdal Lutheran Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Gundersen Health System staff and care givers.
