—Jas. J. Caward, a brother of Cresco Cawards, and once a resident of Cresco, died at his home at Hampton, Iowa, Dec. 20th, and was buried in the Cresco cemetery. He tried to enlist in the War of the Rebellion, when only fourteen years old, but was refused, and had to wait two years, when he was accepted and served a three-year term.
Transcriber’s Note: Find a grave shows he was born March 19, 1847 and is buried in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
