Mrs. Anna Malek, residing in the First ward, passed away on Tuesday morning after an acute illness of but a few minutes, although she has been in poor health for some time. She arose in the morning and prepared breakfast as usual, but soon after complained of illness. She was waited upon by a daughter and assistance summoned, but passed away almost immediately while still sitting in her chair. The funeral was held yesterday morning at St. Joseph’s Church, conducted by Father Wagener, and the remains taken to Protivin for interment. The deceased was about 65 years of age and leaves a family of several children to mourn her loss, her husband having preceded her in death several years ago when they were residents of Paris township, near Schley.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she was born April 10, 1851 and died Nov. 16, 1915. She is buried in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
