PAINTER
Herbert Ellsworth Painter was born on the 29th day of Dec. 1876, in Canoe Twp. Winneshiek Co., the oldest child of George Patton Painter and his wife Cynthian Painter. On the 12th day of June, 1907 he was united in marriage with Martha Klaffke, his surviving widow. From this union one child sprang, Russell Wm. While at a visit at Mr. Klaffke’s he suddenly died of heart failure last Monday at about 1 o’clock in the afternoon. Besides his widow and son he leaves his mother and two sisters. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon in the Lutheran Church, Rev. J. Pless officiating. Interment was had in New Oregon cemetery.
