MCINTOSH.
Little Hugh George McIntosh came into the world a happy dimpled baby, Feb. 17th, 1906, at Cresco, the second son of Duncan and Lunetta McIntosh.
His happy disposition and lovable ways endeared him to all who knew him, and most of his little life has been spent among the friends among whom he first saw the light of day. At the tender age of four years he was attacked by hip disease and in June, 1913, he was taken to St. Louis to a Sanitarium where he spent 11 months being treated for this trouble, and in spite of the complete cure of the disease the remainder of his life he was was{sic} obliged to walk on crutches. However his ill health did not make him peevish or fretful, but on the other hand served to make him even more sweet of disposition and the independence with which he bore his affliction won for him the respect and admiration of all who knew him. Three weeks ago today he was taken with the disease that caused his death and after days of the intensest suffering and a brave struggle for life his little spirit was released Saturday evening, Aug. 28th.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his parents, a brother Arthur, and a little sister Charlotte, also his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex. McIntosh, and uncles and aunts who have done all that loving hands could do to relieve his suffering.
Funeral services were from the Baptist church Tuesday afternoon and burial at Oak Lawn. Several relatives of the family came from Decorah for the services. Many beautiful flowers the gift of friends old and young helped to show the loving response and sympathy that the intense suffering but brave little spirit had called forth.
Rev. Pettit came from Des Moines to conduct the services and his having been through experiences so much the same as the afflicted family, gave to his words power and comfort.
