Killed by Lightning.
Cresco P. D.—During the severe thunder storm on Wednesday afternoon, (23rd) a threshing crew working on the J. J. Hills farm, about ten miles south of Cresco, took refuge in the barn which was struck by lightning, giving two of them a severe shock and killing Mr. Watson. Mr. Watson was a tenant on the Isbell farm, and leaves a wife and two little daughters to mourn his death.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows this was Leonard who was born Sept. 29, 1864 and died Aug. 28, 1899. He is buried in New Oregon Cemetery.
