Mary Ann Kuhn, 87, of Cresco, IA, died peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2020, at her home.

A private Visitation, Memorial Mass and Burial will be held at Notre Dame Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, with Father Jacob Rouse officiating. The service will be live streamed through Father Jacob Rouse's YouTube channel.

Mary Ann Elizabeth Kuennen was born on January 2, 1933, to Frank and Elizabeth (Meyer) Kuennen in St. Lucas, IA. She was the oldest daughter of 13 children and helped care for her younger siblings. She would be known to make 8-13 loaves of bread at a time to help feed them. More importantly, she was known as a loving and caring sister. On June 27, 1959, Mary Ann and James Kuhn were married in a double wedding along with Jim’s brother, Robert Kuhn, and Mary Ann’s sister, Helen Kuennen at St. Lucas Catholic Church.

Mary Ann loved farm life and being outdoors. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, watching birds, polka, playing cards and slots. She also enjoyed baking, canning, and cooking for her family. Mary Ann’s faith, family, and grandkids were the focus of her life.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband James, children Alan Kuhn of Plymouth, MN, Duane (Carrie) Kuhn of Forest City, IA, Diane (Keith) Krentz of Cresco, IA, Denise (Dan) Fitzpatrick of Eugene, OR, and Donna (Denny) Liekweg of Sully, IA, grandchildren Justin Kuhn, Andrew Kuhn (fiancé Maranda Lunning), John and Joe Krentz, Lexie, Kaylie, Jon, Carter Henry, Connor, Aidan, Reese, Kellen Fitzpatrick, Dylan and Deven Liekweg, siblings Norbert (Dolores) Kuennen, Neil Kuennen, Henry (Arlene) Kuennen, Greg (Rosemary) Kuennen, Helen (Fred) Williams, Laura (Art) Matt, Margaret (Gerald) Kuennen, Martin Kuennen, Kathy (Dennis) Russler, and sister-in-law Darlene Kuennen.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Luke, Frances, and David Kuennen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Howard County Community Hospice, 235 8th Ave W, Cresco, IA 52136.
