OBITUARY.
Lorenzo Dow Hall was born in New York, Feb. 5, 1838, and died at his home in Lime Springs, June 13, 1813,{sic} aged 75 years, 4 months and 8 days. In 1857, be moved to Iowa and settled near Chester. He was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Nichols of this county, and to them were born 11 children, 4 of them having died, and 7 are still living. After the death of his wife be was united in marriage to Mrs. Johnston, who patiently cared for him during his recent sickness and remains with the children to mourn his decease. In the year 1891 under the pastorate of Rev. Bourland Smith he was converted and united with the Methodist church and remained a member until the end of his earthly pilgrimage. He died trusting in the Lord. The funeral was held Monday afternoon in the Methodist church in charge of the pastor assisted by Rev. Burgess, and interment in the cemetery east of town.

Transcriber’s Note: The year of his death is an obvious error. His gravestone in Pleasant Hill Cemetery show his first name spelled Loranzo. His second wife shows the spelling of her name as Johnson.
