Charles DeGreve, aged about 85 years, passed away last Sunday at his home in the east part of town and the funeral was held Tuesday morning at the Church of the Assumption, with interment in St. Joseph’s cemetery.

OBITUARY.
DeGREVE.
Karel Ludovicus DeGreve was born in Bouchoute, Belgium, December 11, 1827, and passed away at his home in Cresco, Iowa, June 1, 1913, having attained the age of 85 years, 5 months and 21 days. His illness lasted only a few days, a weak heart being the immediate cause of his death.
Deceased came to this country about thirty years ago and engaged in farm¬ing until about five years ago when he moved to Cresco which has since been his home.
He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, one daughter, Emma, and six sons, Peter, Phillip, John, Fred and Edmond, all of Cresco, and one son, Edward, in the Old Country. He also leaves seventeen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He had been in feeble health for some time, but bore his suffering with Christian fortitude. He was a kind and devoted husband and father and will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services were held with High Mass at the Church of the Assumption, Tuesday, June 3rd, at 10 a. m., conducted by Father T. Murtagh, with burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery,
Relatives who attended the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Mat. DeMont, of Kewanee, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Hoogerwerf and Mr. and Mrs. Jake DeGreve, of Atkinson, Illinois, and Ferdinand DeLange and son Edward, of Elkhorn, Wisconsin.
