The remains of Mrs. John Shaw were brought from Avalon, Wis., Thursday morning, for burial.

SHAW.
Mrs. Dorothea Rogers Shaw was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, December 17, 1826, and passed away at Avalon, Wis., March 31, 1913, aged 86 years, 3 months and 14 days.
In 1851 she was united in marriage with James Fleming, and they came to America in 1854, settling at Dundee, Illinois. To this union four children were born, all of whom are dead. Mr. Fleming died in 1858, and in 1860 the deceased was married to John Shaw, who preceded her in death on January 30, 1912. To this union were born three daughters and one son, Mrs. Wm. Simpson, of Chatfield, Minn., Mrs. Wm. Reed, of Avalon, Wis., Mrs. Alexander Grant, of Whitewater, Wis., and John of Alberta, Canada, all of whom survive to mourn the loss of their mother,
Mr. and Mrs. Shaw came to Cresco soon after their marriage and were residents in this vicinity for many years previous to their removal to Wisconsin.
The remains were brought to Cresco and on April 3rd, and laid at rest beside her husband in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
