Mrs. Alice McLaughlin died at her home in Cresco, Sunday, age 78 years. The funeral was held from the Church of the Assumption Tuesday morning, and the remains were taken to Bluffton for burial.
Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she was born July 31, 1832 and died Feb. 16, 1913. She is buried in the St. Bridget Cemetery.

OBITUARY.
MCLAUGHLIN
Mrs. Alice McLaughlin passed away at 4 o’clock Sunday evening, Feb. 16, 1913, at her home in Cresco, Iowa. She was sick less than one week. Bronchial pneumonia was the cause of her death. She was 80 years old July 31, 1912.
Alice McGee was born July 31, 1832, in county Fermanagh, Ireland. Her parents dying when she was quite young, at the age of three years she came to this country with her brothers and sisters, (two of whom survive. Cormick McGee of Bluffton twp., and Mrs. Ellen Alford of Fremont twp.,) and lived in Illinois for several years, then she moved to Winneshiek county, Iowa.
In 1858 she was united in marriage to Charles McLaughlin and to this union was born one daughter, Mrs. C. J. Gossman. They lived on their farm in Bluffton twp., until the fall of 1893, then rented the farm and moved to Cresco to rest the remaining years of their lives, her husband dying eight years ago. She was a devout Catholic woman and a good neighbor and left a large circle of friends in Cresco and Bluffton.
The funeral was held in the church of the Assumption, Cresco, Iowa, Tuesday morning at 9:30; Rev. Fr. Thomas Murtaugh officiating, with burial in the Catholic cemetery near Bluffton, Rev. Frs. Hawe and Mullen officiating at the grave.
