The father was making a deadly assault upon his sister with a large knife, threatening her life, and that in the melee his brother was accidentally killed. The prisoner is a bright looking boy 17 years of age and the sister about to become a mother is 16 or thereabouts. The prisoner alleges that his father is guilty of the crime, but the girl refuses to corroborate him. The family consists of the father and mother and eight children beside the one just killed. About three years ago because of alleged cruel and inhuman treatment, the girl left home. The father advertised for her in our paper, but friends of the girl advised us not to inform the father of her whereabouts, if found, because of his ill treatment.
