Over a Hundred Years Old.
The Riceville Recorder of last week reports the death on the 4th inst. of John Durgan, a resident of Howard county, just east of Riceville. Mr. Durban was born in Ireland Aug. 17th, 1799, and was, therefore, 7 months and 18 days more than a hundred years old. He had been a resident of the United States for fifty-three years, and of Howrd county since 1869, having outlived his wife, and eight of his ten children. The Recorder says he has enjoyed usually good health until the Saturday (five days) prior to his death, and then he gradually failed and peacefully sank to his last rest.
