Mrs. Catherine Derr passed away Wednesday morning of this week, at the home of her son John Derr, Jr. Obituary later.

Kathrine Aman was born February 2, 1826, |at Medard, Hesse-Hamburg, Germany, where she grew to womanhood. In 1849 she was married with Michael Derr. Of their children, a son died in infancy, while three sous and three daughters survive her. In 1866, the family arrived in Illinois, and five years later in this vicinity. In 1890, her husband died, and since then deceased made her home with her children, chiefly with her son, John Derr. About three months ago she began to fail and on Tuesday last, Nov. 21st, she fell asleep and was laid to rest in New Oregon Cemetery last Friday, Rev. J. Pless conducting the funeral. She leaves besides her six children, 41 grandchildren and 70 great-grandchildren.
