Mrs. John Martin received the sad intelligence of the death of her daughter, Mrs. Whitney, who died last Thursday night. The Whitneys were former residents of Ridgeway and later of Lime Springs. Mr. Whitney holding a position as station agent at both places, but more recently lived near Des Moines. Last fall, thinking the change would benefit Mrs. Whitney’s health, the family went to California, locating near San Diego, where she passed away. The remains are expected some time the latter part of the week, the funeral probably taking place on Sunday.
