OBITUARY.
FARNSWORTH
Lucy Pardee, daughter of Thankful and Ebenezer Pardee, was born Jan. 20, 1824, in Courtland Co., New York, near the village of Homer. There were seven children in the Pardee family-six girls and one boy. Only one now remains—Mrs. Olivia Teetshorn, who lives five miles east of town, in Winnesheik county.
Lucy Pardee was married March 28, 1844, to Milo Rice Farnsworth. The two were born and raised in Courtland county. In childhood they attended the same school, were in the same classes some of the time, and felt no twinge of mortification if they chanced to occupy the same seat in school. Their entire lives were blended in mutual interests from their earliest memory.
After marriage, they made homes in Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa. Ten children blessed the union but only six survive—a trio of brothers and as many sisters. Byron Farnsworth, the absent son, of Lima, Wis., with his wife, spent several weeks with his mother recently. Mrs. Walter Norton, of Great Falls, Montana, came a short time ago to be with her mother in her last days. The remaining four, Clinton, Frank, Mrs. Etta Vance and Mrs. Dee Cady, are in or near Cresco.
Two years, one month and four days after 65 years of married life, Mr. Farnsworth fell asleep and Mrs. Farnsworth has lingered in the most feeble condition, until June 30, 1911, as the sun went down, she too, like a tired child, went to rest.
Her entire life has been one of marked consistency.
Mrs. Farnsworth was for many years a member of the Congregational church in Whitewater, Wis., but eight years ago she became interested in the Advent doctrine and became a charter member of the organization in Cresco.
Funeral services were held at the home on Elm street, Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. M. McComas of Mason City.
The remains were accompanied to Whitewater, Wis., by Frank Farnsworth and Mrs. Vance, and laid beside her husband.

Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone in Oak Grove Cemetery in Whitewater, WI shows her name as Luey.
