OBITUARY.
William Halweg was born April 7, 1832, at Landcok, Prussia, where he grew to manhood. In 1856 he was united in marriage with Mathilda Mallah, his surviving widow. Their union was blessed with twelve children of whom five, three sons and two daughters, survive him. In 1867, the deceased emigrated to this country, finding work in the Singer Sewing Machine Factory in New York City. In 1877 he decided to go West, and settled on a farm at Davis Corners which has been his home all these years. A little over a year ago he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Dell, where he found the best of care in the days of his helplessness being a man with an iron constitution, he never knew what sickness was, but since April last he began to fail until last Friday when he passed away. Besides a widow and five children, he leaves 31 grandchildren and 5 great¬grandchildren. A large concourse of friends attended his funeral at Davis Corners, Sunday afternoon. Interment was in Howard Center Cemetery.{sic}

Transriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in New Oregon Cemetery and shows his wife’s maiden name as Mallach. It also shows he died June 2, 1911.
