David B. Jones was born at Llangranog. South Wales, Aug. 5, 1834, and died at Lime Springs, May 7, 1911; his age therefore being 76 years, 9 months and 2 days. He was married to Anne Davis of the same neighborhood in Wales, Nov, 13, 1856. Seven children were born to them, six sons and one daughter. Four of the sons with the aged and much afflicted mother survive to mourn the loss of a kind and faithful husband, and a good, considerate father. They came to this country in June, 1869, and settled in this community. Mr. Jones was a good, Christian gentleman who endeavored to lead his children in “the way everlasting.” So highly esteemed was he of the Bristol church that he was elected an elder in the summer of 1895, and was received into the Presbytery the following summer. The funeral was held Wednesday, May 10, 1911. Services were hold at the Welch church conducted by Revs. R. Vaughn Griffith and H. F. Williams. Interment was in Bristol Grove Cemetery.
