An old gentleman named Lappin residing near Bonair fell from a load of hay while in the field one day last week and the resultant injuries and exposure to the cold resulted in his death on Sunday morning.

Obituary.
John Lapham was born Dec. 16, 1839 in Mentor, Ohio, and died at Bonair, Iowa, December 22, 1912, aged 73 years and 6 days. He was married April 6 1869, to Sarah Garrett. To this union 4 children were born, Mina, whose death occured 5 years ago, H. J. of Bonair, and H. W. of Canton, Iowa, and B. H. of Hartley, Iowa. He moved to Iowa 28 years ago. The funeral was held at the home last Tuesday morning, conducted by Rev. Myers, with interment in the Lime Springs cemetery.Transcriber’s Note: His gravestone in Pleasant Hill Cemetery shows he was born in 1840 and died in 1911. Both dates do not agree with the above.
