George Watts passed away at about 1:30 Sunday morning as the result of heart disease. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Baptist church. The deceased was one of old residents of Cresco, an old soldier and always an upright neighbor and citizen. Obituary later.

OBITUARY.
WATTS.
George Watts was born at Newton, Wiltshire, England, Jan. 17, 1841, and died at Cresco, Iowa, Nov. 3, 1912.
He came to America in 1857 and made his home at Waukesha, Wisconconsin,{sic} until he enlisted in Company F, 28th Wis. Vol. Infantry, on the 9th day of August 1862, to serve during the civil war, and was mustered out of the service on the 23rd day of August 1865, having served 3 years.
He was married to Miss Mary Bennett in Monroe county, Wis., May 7, 1868, and the next day came to Lime Springs, Iowa, with his bride where they made their home until the spring of 1872, when they moved to Cresco where they have since resided.
To this union seven children were born, five sons and two daughters, six of whom are living, William having died at ten years of age, John, Sadie, Aaron, May, Lewis and Lenus, with with {sic} their widowed mother are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father, also four grandchildren, all of whom reside in Cresco.
Mr. Watts has always been a Christian and was a member of the Baptist church at the time of his decease. He was a man much sought in sickness and was always ready and willing to assist both at home and among friends.
The family have the sincere sympathy in their grief of their friends. The funeral services were held from the Baptist church by the Rev. Schafer, Tuesday, Nov. 5th, at 2 p. m.
