Mrs. Chas. Tass passed away Wednesday morning at her home northeast of town, after a long illness.

OBITUARY.
TASS.
Leonia Herpelinck was born in Watervliet, Belgium, October 31, 1873. At the age of 12 years, with her mother, one sister and two brothers, she came to Cresco, Iowa, in the year of 1886. On September 26, 1894, she became the happy bride of Charles Tass, and after eighteen years of happy married life she passed to the Better Land on September 24th of this year, after two years of suffering, the last eighteen weeks being confined in bed. Deceased was 38 years, 10 months and 24 days of age. She leaves to mourn her loss, a kind and loving husband and three sons, Louis aged 17 years, Leo aged 11 years, and Joseph aged 6 years, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Herpelinck, two sisters, Mrs. Peter Herzelle, of Lime Springs, Miss Louise, of Maple Leaf, and five brothers, Hezlyn, of Rock Island, Illinois, Tophy and Harry, of Maple Leaf, George and Frank, of this place; also a host of relatives and friends. She was laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery. “May she rest in peace.”Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone shows her first name as Leona and that she died Sept. 24, 1912.
