Death of Michael Foley.
A letter from Mrs. Joseph R. Dunlop, of Chicago, announces the death at her home on Friday last, Dec. 2nd, of her father, Michael Foley, aged 86 years, after an illness of many years duration.
Mr. Foley was a resident of Cresco for over thirty years until about fifteen years ago when he went to Chicago with his family. His children, six boys and four girls, seven of whom are still living, were born in Cresco.
The remains were placed in the vault of Mount Olivet Cemetery, Chicago, and will be brought to Cresco early next April for interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

The remains of Michael Foley who died last winter in Chicago, arrived in Cresco Tuesday afternoon and was interred in St. Joseph’s cemetery by the side of his wife who died here several years ago. On account of the illness of two of his daughters at the time of his death, the remains were placed in a vault in Chicago, awaiting the daughters recovery. Three of his daughters, Mrs. Kathrine Dunlop and Mrs. Mary Armstrong of Chicago and Miss Anna Foley of New York City accompanied the remains of their father here for interment, another daughter, Mrs. Julia Wagner of New York City, being prevented on account of illness. This is the first visit of the ladies to their old home in seventeen years, with the exception of Mrs. Dunlop, who has not been here for thirty years. Naturally they found many changes and but few of the old time friends whom they remembered, among them being the Plain Dealer family, who acknowledge a very pleasant call.
